about jillian.
The Inner Resource Collective LLC is a blend of modern psychology best practices and wisdom from life experience. I draw from my career working as a mental health counselor in private practice, teaching yoga internationally, and over a decade of mentorship with earth-based spiritual teachers. I work remotely in an office located on the traditional land of the Abenaki people. I use she/her pronouns.
My education weaves together both ancient and modern therapeutic approaches to assist clients in deepening awareness, cultivating curiosity, and developing warmth toward themselves and their lives. I hold an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and a masters in clinical counseling psychology from La Salle University. I studied mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) through Penn Medicine, mindful self-compassion training (MSC) through the Institute for Spirituality and Health, Toltec philosophy with Heatherash Amara, and Eco-therapy with Dr. William Taegel and Dr. Lillie Rowden.
Through my work I have come to view that our personalities are made up of an ecology of interactive parts. Imbalances can occur when we over-identify with any one of these parts and solutions can occur when we can include all aspects with curious, non-judgmental awareness. When our nervous system is calm and supported, it is easier to listen to our wisdom. I have also found that self-compassion is a very useful practice while moving toward wholeness and balance.
I am an LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC life-affirming healer. Issues related to liberation and privilege are everyone's concern and not just the concern of those whose identities are targets of oppression. I exist in a white, female, cis-gender body and grew up with many middle class privileges. I have a permanent physical disability acquired from a life-changing injury. I recognize that I have blind-spots and blind-spots about my blind-spots when it comes to others' lived experiences. It is an ongoing process to cultivate a safe, inclusive space that recognizes wholeness. I am deeply committed to doing the personal work in stretching my understanding of my own intersectional privileges and how this may manifest in relationships.
